I used to have a pretty generic, professional type spiel on this page, but I decide to change it.
I wanted to write something a little more real and personal about myself in my own words.
The reason being, if you choose me as your artist, we’ll be spending a good few hours together on the morning of your wedding day and I think it’s important that I’m a good fit for you and your bridal party
So here are some quick facts and for those that want to learn more about me, keep on reading.
I’ve been doing makeup 12 years. I started straight out of high school.
I studied at Cameron Jane College and have a certificate IV in Makeup and Design.
I’ve lost count of how many weddings I’ve done but it’s over 200.
I'm a qualified hairdresser and work from my home salon during the week.
I have worked for various brands within Myer as well as Inglot and Napoleon Perdis.
I have worked in other areas of makeup including commercial, fashion and magazine.
I use only professional, top quality brands in my kit.
I started my business when I was about 20 years old. I’d worked for a couple of other bridal companies and learned the ropes by assisting. I didn’t always want to work in Bridal, I kind of just fell into it through some assisting jobs I took on. I actually wanted to work in Magazine doing editorial pieces but have since tried that work and don’t love it nearly as much as weddings. There just something truly special and rewarding about being part of someone’s special day and sharing in the love, happiness and excitement of a wedding day morning.
I grew up in Western Sydney and currently live in Penrith. I also lived in Melbourne and Geelong in Victoria for a few years and freelanced down there. This is where I met my now fiancé and our wedding is planned for January 2019. We have a three-year-old son, four chickens, two bearded dragons and some fish.
When I’m not doing hair and makeup, I’ll be researching anything to do with health and wellness which is another passion of mine.
Over the past few years I have expanded from a solo artist to a small team. I have three hair stylists and one assistant who work on weddings with me. You can read about them on the Team Page.
I absolutely love my job and am so lucky and blessed to be able to do what I love. I have so many wonderful memories of my past Brides and am really excited about meeting my new future ones and sharing in some more magic wedding days mornings!
I describe my signature style as ‘Natural Glam’ - A fresh, flawless look that is still real and still you.
I believe skin should look like skin. Glowing with even tone and a subtle highlight.
A good quality foundation is essential. One that looks amazing on but also feels light and breathable too because comfort is important, and of course, it must last the distance.
I love blushes in soft pinks and peaches which creates a youthful, healthy look.
Eyes should be defined and really pop! – colour selection is important here.
I favour colours in the earthy hues, golds, bronzes and chocolate browns as well as dusty pinks and rose gold shimmers.
I like brows to look full and shaped and I will contour as requested but I usually think less is more here.
As for lips I am fond of matte, long lasting colours but also love a liner and gloss combo for the more ‘Beachy-Boho’ bride.
I hope this gives you a little insight into my particular Bridal style, but as I am a versatile artist I am happy to create beautiful, bold looks too!
